Project Brief
This was a collaborative book project for the Typography class at Wayne State. Under the direction of Professor Saima Mohammed, our assignment was to find and photograph a mural in the city of Detroit that spoke to us. We would then design a cover, table of contents, and book layout compiling all of the students mural findings. I found a particular interest in cataloging the murals by neighborhood in Detroit. I am fascinated by the history and evolution of Detroit neighborhoods and city neighborhoods and districts in general. My table of contents featured a map by neighborhood that I used as the header for the mural pages. I intend to go back and make the map an interactive pdf with a map and street view photo of the mural.
